Found this in the trunk the other day
I was in the trunk cleaning it out the other day and found this. I haven't plugged anything into it to see if it's wired to shut off with car or stay constant. I never read manual so this is one of these cases where it may have definitely helped. I can see the uses of a 12v accessory outlet in the trunk if you have an SUV but a 5er? lol. I mean just in case you get a flat and have one of those small compressors it may work. OR in case you want to trickle charge your battery

Very interesting.
My z4 has no spare, and I ditched the RFT a long time ago. So I think when I revamp some things in the next few months I am going to wire one into the trunk.
Until now I have had some plugs and a tiny canister of compressed air that I use for my sportbike.
Never had to use, but this is a great idea to pump up tires since I do have a little compressor laying around.

Achtung...what are you new? LOL j/k man. I tapped into that years ago. For those running aftermarket amps in the trunk, a simple tap off that outlet will give you a nice switched 12v supply for the remote turn-on wire. Also, many of you may have a a12v socket in the passenger side footwell area (im not sure if this holds for RH drives cars. I imagine it does for some models).
