One method that often worked would be to park car in driveway with engine running, open all windows and turn the heater to max heat and max fan. Make sure AC is OFF.
This seemed to dry out and kill the offending mold

My ride is almost six months old. I experienced this problem for a few days last month. I then recalled the local dealer telling me the same thing that UKAussi mentioned. Followed the procedure just two Saturday nights ago. I turned up the heat, opened up all the windows and the sun roof and let the engine run for the next half hour. Guess what? The next morning when I started the car, all the bad smell had disappeared. In fact, it smelt like it did when I just got my brand new car. I am so convinced that I am gonna follow this procedure on a monthly basis whether or not the smell returns. You guys should try it and maybe report back with your findings.

Do you let your car run with the airco on or off when doing this procedure???

Turn on the blower to max, turn off the air-con button, set the two temp dials to max temp, go into the i-drive, climate, air distribution, where there is a scale for cooling effect, adjust from blue to full amber. You will feel plenty of warm air from all the vents.

My ac smelled awful for the last month or so to the point that i called the dealer and put a request in for my service visit next week. In the mean time while i was cleaning my load i looked under the hodd and found the microfilter compartment, I removed both of them and they were full of pollen and dust i politly vaccumed them off and lightly sprayed a disenfectant on them placed them back and low and behold i used the ac twice in the last couple of days and no smell at all. So i quess the filters have something to do with it also. Damn these things were filty tho.
