Floormats under warranty?
Does anybody know whether the floormats are under warranty or part of the 4 years of free service and maintenance?
The floormats are attached to the car via those velcro pads underneath. On the drivers side the velcro pads ripped out of the floormat after only 1 year and 10k miles. It now slides freely about the cabin. I was wondering if my dealer will have to give me new ones for free, or whether I would have to buy them.
Anybody who has any experience with that?
Thanks

My Ride: 2005 545i Sport, Premium, Logic 7, Jet Black, Black Leather, M-Aero Kit, 15% (very dark) Tint, Eichbach Lowering Springs, Red Brake Calipers, Radenergie R-10's, Michelin PilotSport2 in 245/35/20 and 285/30/20, Rolled Fenders, and a nifty Graco Baby Car Seat.
Next Up: Xenon fogs, Eisemann Exhaust, iPod Interface, Comfort Seats.
The floormats have velcro on the back. That velcro sticks to small, round, plastic disks that fit in (insert and turn 90 degrees) into the floorboard.
The small round plastic discs will be covered. The carpet and floormat will not be.

Here's my suggestion. Take the plastic velcro pieces and screw them in the carpet an inch or so away from the original location. Given the size of the plastic piece and the velcro pads attached to the mats, you should be OK.

If you have a good relationship with the service manager you might be able to get a warranty replacement, but probably not.

if you have a good relationship with the service manager, you might also get him to replace your car under warranty... Stream, come on, for a pair of floormats

Since the back of the floormat velcro came off the back of the floor mat just glue it back on... epoxy it back on... you'll never see it. I wouldnt bother the dealer for this one. Save the warranty request for something real... You dont want to annoy your dealer..

I doubt that they are replaceable under warranty. For one thing, it would be hard to argue that the damage was not caused by the user.
