i bent a wheel and had to mount the spare tire which generated the flat tire warning.

now that my original wheel is fixed and mounted, the flat tire alert is still warning. i've driven several miles (10 miles) and it still hasn't silenced.

btw, the bent wheel was fixed great..very smooth and 1/4 the cost of a replacement.

I assume you reset the FTM in the iDrive?

Yeah you need to call up RPA (only works in park) reset and then drive off.

I have to do this resetting a couple of times a week now, when the roads are like ice.
We have like -6-8 C in the day and -15 at nights, and all the roads are really slippry.

Everytime I get the car in slide (before DSC cuts in) the tire puncture warning comes out.

Easy to reset, though, but frustrating.

Some day, I will have an real puncture and ignore it...

I was getting the tyre puncture warning frequently also. I searched this forum and found that for 04 cars there was a known software issue that caused this.

I kicked up a fuss and got my dealer to update the software a couple of days after I got the car back I noticed that the drivers side rear tyre was low.

I dropped into the tyre fitters and they found a screw in the tyre and a very slow puncture that they repaired (luckily).

Incidentally, my warning tended to go off after a hard manuevre (fast acceleration, hard cornering etc..)

I haven't had the tyre warning since the car came back, so I don't know if it was real and the puncture repair fixed it or if it was false and the software fixed it.

might be worth you popping down to the tyre place just to rule it out ?

I believe the system determines the warning based upon relative difference in speed of the wheels, so if you fit one of those lilliputters, the system may be confused. I think it is not bad because it reminds you that you're running on something not quite so good. With the orignals back on, a reset should do the job. If not, back your your dealer I guess
