As I am sure you know, when your headlights are in Auto mode and they are turned-on via the light sensor then you get a little green light next to the switch to indicate that they are on.

Today I noticed that it is flashing on-and-off about once a second - but my headlights and console lights are staying on. Even when it is dark outside, the little light flashes on and off. Its probably indicating a fault of some sort .... any ideas ?

Mine does the same thing too, always has. I think what it is telling you is that your headlights are on. but then who knows

No flashing light on mine, I too thought I recalled someone saying the flasing indicate a fault of some sort, maybe with the adaptive headlights.

Mine has always been either solid on or off depending on the status of the headlights. If the lights came on going through a tunnel (or past a tree ) then the light would be on. The flashing is definitly new.

Cool Das thanks ! I suspected that it may be an RTFM

This is quite opportune since I am going to the dealers tomorrow - I'll add it to the list.

Just had a whole new headlight installed for this exact problem... What I'm concerned about would be a ?1k bill if it wasn't under warranty!?!?? Also, get them to check for cracks in the top brackets...

In my experience the dealer won't have the part in-stock, next day jobbie...

fyi - dealer tried to fix it as part of the SW update to 19 - this worked for a day and now the flashing light is back
