Well, I just got to vent a little bit...

Got my car in August so lot's of firsts for me..

We had our first snow last night and it's about 2 degrees outside tonight..I am just so pleased at how the car has performed when the weather turned

First, the car just handled like rails in the snow -- firmly planted would best describe it.The HVAC system is outstanding, the seats and steering wheel heat in seconds (love that heated wheel!), the swiveling headlights offer wonderful sightlines..Everything clicking like I dreamed it would.

I feel completely safe, in-control and comfortable driving this beast in December. Can I take a moment to mention the comfort seats? Lastly, I swear, the motor loves the cold too..Just goes like a bat out of hell - it breathes wonderfully.

We are so fortunate to be driving such wonderful, wonderful cars

Nice to hear your winter tire/wheel set-up is working out as well....

Thanks for sharing. Now I will know about what to expect. We have not had the real harsh winter weather yet. My new 5er will be on light duty, though. Fortunately, I can take my wife's X3 or my daughter's 330xi. As a last resort, I have some pretty sticky tires on my 740i...

I, too, put my winters on today and had a little reminder of how well the car works in the cold and slippery conditions...

It really is incredible, isn't it?

Wow, 4 cars to chose from. I would just keep the e60 hidden from snow. : ) I wish I had such a great selection of cars.

I'm glad you're pleased with the car in snow. I think it handles well once underway. Braking, turning, stability, etc.. are very confidence inspiring, but the 0-5 mph experience is still a 100% German rear wheel drive V8 IMHO (in other words its pitiful). I put two big boxes of copy paper in the trunk and it really helps out.

I will opt for a V8 xi for this reason only next time around even though I am a huge fan of rear drive. But with one big caveat: only if BMW offers sport calibrated suspension with the port pack, unlike the current 335xi & 535xi sport packages.
