Thanks for that but giving me more choice reduces certainty.
If more information is forthcoming I'll use it of course otherwise I'll stick blindly to what I've already been told.

got mine sent from BMW customer service directly, too.
It probably won't help your certainty that they constantly keep adding to the list.

right so just before the mot
Good idea to get MOT carried out a month early, so warranty should then cover any problems found, apart from service items listed above..

The MOT tests for a vehicle's road worthiness rather than the functioning of warrantied parts.
eg braking efficiency, tyre wear, light alignment and functionality, cracked windhields and emissions systems are not covered under warranty in the UK.

Ricracing, with your car being a 2005 build, I would assume it is running to Euro IV emission spec. I thought to keep in line with that, BMW was only using Longlife 04 approved low SAPS oils. The Shell Helix Ultra 0W-40, to my knowledge, is not on the LL04 list. Might be worth checking with your dealer again.
Also, thanks to your good thinking, I will buy my next non RF summer tyres in the size 225/45 18",
the RF 245's are just too wide and harch for our crappy roads.
That is if I don't get me a new car next spring...
In Finland we only get the 2 year Euro warranty and I have not got any service nor garantee packages.
I do not need them, since I drive quite little and change cars pretty often.
