My Ride: 05 525i SilverGray/Black Step/Nav/Cold/Premium/Xenons
Exclamation

Ok this is my first post since i got back from vaction & after driving to & from Myrtle Beach SC. On the trip down the A/C for some reason didnt want to blow cold even after hitting the max A/C button, & still didnt blow cold after a quick stop for gas & to strecth my legs a bit. After a nights rest the A/C has worked fine since. The transmisson slams have become more pronounced then earlier. It has happened in the past but it was infrenquent enough not to trouble me. The last thing was the Passenger restraint system fauted out so to the dealer it will go. Should i ask for a software upgrade?? Iam taking it to Westchester BMW as i didnt get the car thru them do you think they will give me a problem with an upgrade?? . All in all the car was smooth & comfortable Iam not one for extended long drives but it was a sure pleasure cruise.. Dont think i would've been as comfortable in my older E46 325xi or my g/f's Hyundai Santa Fe ... LOL.

I think any dealer will give you a software upgrade if the software is thought by the dealer to be the problem area. Read the manual first on AC in case you haven't. There might be a clue there. The passenger seatbelt thing is a weird one in my car. Sometimes it will come on when my wife is in the seat. Then it will go off again. Sometimes we will unhook the belt and refasten for a fix. Other times it will jus fix itself. Makes one wonder if the air bag system is an on-again-off-again-Harrigan.

I have had the A/C issue too only when it is hot and quite humid outside.
I wait ~ 30 min and it works again. Something must be freezing up and the thaw again. Slowly, it seems that BMW never tests their cars for obvious stuff like this...

I think the BMW engineers are too busy trying to get the cars to run properly and not break down. They have no time for testing "Accessories" and non-esentials like software and part quality

I had the same problem with my passenger restraint system. Apparently it has to do with the sensor in the seat. When I brought it back to the dealer, they fixed it for me, but they also ordered me a new sensor (they said they had updated sensors or something). When the sensor came in a month later, it turned out to be a brand new lower half of my seat, so on the up side the new car smell got a little boost from the new leather

Fedora Core?

That is an open source project right? is it some kind of an operating system. If so, what are the differences between Win XP and is it better???

Fedora Core is a linux operating system. It is much more stable than windows. The computer has been running for two months straight on the same boot. No restarting. The only downside is that it is not compatible with many games and windows programs. If you guys want to know what bad about windows check out www.fuckmicrosoft.com
