Thanks all for sharing your recent experiences with "long drives" in you respective E60s.
Next projected extended trip (still negotiating) in the E60 is a Memorial Day weekender to Pittsburgh (620 miles round trip - 97.5% interstate driving). Once we arrive, I am so looking forward to taking the car out on the serpentine 2- lane state routes of my youth (PA 980, PA 50 & PA 18). I have this feeling that the E60 will handle those turns and hold the road a bit better than my old '74 Monte Carlo back in the day.

I have a 50 mile each way to work every day...about 48 of which is smooth Interstate. Let me tell ya...my 535i is the PERFECT car for the task. By far, the best part of my day is the drive to and from work. I'm sure it would do a great job around town too, but it really never sees anything except Interstate. It comes out Monday - Friday...gets washed Friday afternoon...stays in the garage until the next Monday morning. In fact, when I first got it, we took it a few places, but the wife and son REAL quickly got tired of walking a block every time I parked WAY out in the parking lot...but hey....no dings...It's kinda racking up the miles...I'm about to turn 34K...but that's ok.

Are we all sharing our first long drive experiences?
My first weekend with the car was highlighted by a trip from NJ to DC and back. Only unfortunate thing was I had a 2 year old dribbling and screaming in the back seat...oh well I guess I have to get used to that now!
Because of traffic in a couple of places I only averaged 60mph but my wife did complain why did I buy an expensive fast car and drive it so slow, I had to point to the speedo and show her we were well into the 3 digits

I get that complain every time there's passengers in the back seat.
Friend: Ryan, why are you driving so slow?
(looking at my speedo)
Friend: Never mind...
Me: ... yeah...
