I think $36k for a 2007 550 with 30K miles on it is beyond reasonable - McKenna had a CPO 2008 with 19K miles and all options including HUD for $41K a couple of months ago. Asking $40K for 2007 that has never had new tires, will be needing front brakes, micro filter, oil change, tire replaced, and who knows what other maint. items taken care of is ridiculous. Don't let the dealer rape you!!!

btel, a bit high on the price for an '06 given the mileage, no? i bought mine in march with 22k miles for 29 grand. not cpo'd, but full warranty til next may. i'd think at this point with the mileage that car would be more in the 27 or 28k range. haven't researched, just going on my experience.

Did your car have a full OEM Mtech kit worth $2500-3000 installed? M5 trunk finisher? Paint matched grills? Near perfect paint? CPO warranty till 100K miles or 11/27/2011? Brand new R1concepts slotted brake rotors/Axxis Deluxe brake pads? New battery? New Nav disk?

My car is for sale for $30,500, which is below book. Perhaps you should do some research before commenting on a subject on which it is clear your experience counts for nothing. Please keep your comments to yourself next time, Rick.

I'm in California, so this is a little far away.

That's my logic as well. In my opinion what they have in the car is irrelevant. What matters is fair market value. hhussain just sold his '08 550 for around $38k, and even if that's not CPO I'd rather get the Ultimate platinum protection plan that covers the iDrive than pay the premium of a CPO.

Maybe you should truly consider DRANGED's (John's) car. $31,500 is a great deal and it has been PAMPERED. It has CPO warranty and for that price you can always extend it, get the extended maint added, and probably still be below the $36K you were looking to pay. Just an idea............................

CA, Nav - these options are not that important. Does it have the Sport Package? If it does have it, the price is fair, if not - let it go.

In general though, CPO prices ARE $8-9K higher than wholesale. That's why it makes no sense whatsoever to buy a CPO E60. If you finance it for 5 years it will take you 3 years o break even and be able to trade the car and your ,monthly payment will be only about $100 less than comparable lease of a new car. Keep in mind that there will be no free maintenance as soon as the car is out of new car warranty and last 2-3 month before you break even you'll have no warranty coverage at all. In short if you can afford to finance 3 year old E60, lease a new one instead.

Dranged's price for his 550 is $30,500 (not $31,500). Given how well-taken care of his car is, that's a good deal. You know that if you are buying from him, you are buying a car that has been pampered by its owner which would be important to me if I were looking for a pre-owned 550.
