Firewall vacuum hoses

Take a look at the heater hoses that are going into the firewall injecting coolant into the heater core.
Now just to the left of the heater hoses are 2 rubber vacuum hoses about the diameter of a pencil.
Both rubber vacuum hoses start where the heater hose hits the firewall.
Where do the vacuum hoses end?
Do you have to remove the intake manifold to replace the vacuum hoses?
