Europe get the new DI engine (N53) with slightly increased performance and much better economy
The US is not getting DI yet... instead it gets a detuned N52 (same as today)... detuned to encourage you to buy a 535i instead :-) But look at the bright side, at least you still have a natuarally aspirated i-6... for a while the rumour was that you would only get the turbo i-6 and some people just don't want turbo for reliability and fuel economy reasons.
The most likely reason you are not ready for DI is US suphur content might be too high (kind of the same thing that has been holding back diesel for so long). Come on guys... get George Bush to clean up your fuel!
