'rysed's' price list shows November availability for a new Professional navigation system. Hmmm... Hearsay versus documentation?

Only if you consider BMW NA executives to be hearsay?

The source of the information may be a BMW NA executive, but the information would be categorized as hearsay since you (a third party) are relaying the information conveyed to you by this executive, to us on this forum.
Whether the CIC is available in the 5er for MY 09 sooner than later is a question of wait and see. If the cars being produced in November of '09 have it then the documentation is right. If not, then you are.
At this juncture, 'rysed' has provided more credible information (in the form of documentation from BMW in Europe) about the launch of the CIC. Do you see what I'm getting at? Unless the BMW NA executive has provided you irrefutable proof (that you can present to us) that the 5er is not getting the CIC for MY 09, what you have told us and what you have written on http://stage.bmwcca.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3105 is called hearsay.

Definition of hearsay: evidence based not on a witness' personal knowledge but on another's statement .

So would you consider all news articles to be hearsay since they are relayed in the same manner (except for live on camera interviews?)

Let's not get too carried away on "BMW documentation" being the "truth". I believe we can all remember product brochures for MY04 e60s and e63 stating bluetooth capable, or manuals stating MP3 capability, neither of which were available right away. Some came later with software and / or hardware changes (unstable CCC comes to mind in one case). Always lurking on some page is BMW's disclaimer about "availability subject to ..." Besides we are also comparing BMWNA (US Spec) "hearsay" with Euro document. Both can be correct in this case.
