I am about to do a few jobs on my 520d 56 plate

I am not worried about the oil change, just uncertain how much oil these take

fuel filter is a worry, I have watched an online video, but dont you have to prime the filter with fuel first to avoid air log???

I need to change the thermostat gasket, anyone had any experience of this?
