E60 sales in February 2010 were down 39% from the same month lsat year ... but still sold 2,270 units. By comparison, the Mercedes Benz E-Class sold 3,315 units.

A quick scan on cars.com shows that there are 6,461 E60 2010 models still left on dealer lots, so if BMW can keep up the pace, they should be able to sell these off just in time for the F10 arrival in June.

What's Hot
Buick LaCrosse +163% over the same month last year
Subaru Outback +159%
Chevy Equinox +133%
Nissan Versa +130%
Auid A3 +126%
Jeep Commander +125%
Audi A5 +108%

What's Not
VW Rabbit -70%
Porche Cayman -70%
Smart ForTwo -69%
Toyota Avalon -65%
Toyota Matrix -59%
VW Touareg -44%

My guess is that they were still selling the previous model Z4, versus the newly redesigned Z4. People like "new". (The redesign is also supposed to appeal to a much bigger target group.)

I think e60 sales are languishing because some prospects (1) are waiting for the new models or (2) finding dealer supplies of the 2010 are not configured to their liking. e.g. my last meander through my dealer's lot showed many many 528's, a couple 535's and only one 550.

I agree that some are probably waiting for the F10.

As for 550s, most BMW dealers don't keep any in stock as the market for them is so small as compared to the 528 and 535. Most 550s are ordered.

A 10% gain overall for the year is amazing, especially considering the bad weather the eastern U.S. has had.

I'm sure folks are waiting for the F10 and dealers are simply emptying existing E60 inventories.
Correct on the Z4, the E85 was out by last February and the E89 didn't hit until April/May timeframe.
Same with the 750i, it was being changed over this time last year.
