Default Fault code help needed please

Hello, got a fault on the car, would be pleased as punch if somebody to help by giving more info and what is the best way to resolve, the code is "5142 Can time - instrument cluster out", fault is causing the cluster light to be permanently live and lit causing high battery drain, have removed fuse F13 when not in use, to save battery as a temporary measure, want to get resolved, would a cluster repair sort it or is this fault within one of the electrical computers? thanks in advance for any help given

Sounds like a CAN bus comm. issue, just a WAG but based on my experience with my cluster 2yrs. Ago. I tried everything I could think of at the time and even swapped cluster but did not get fixed till I gave in and had dealer reprogram software on whole car.

Is this the only fault you got, or were there more in other units?
