Can you actually corner faster with anti-roll stabilization, or does it just feel like you can?

Good question! I suspect u're talking about dynamic drive! right?

Yes.

dynamic drive = anti roll stabilization

I believe you can corner faster as the lack of body roll (without rock hard suspension) means that a little less weight is shifted to the outside tires and therefore the inside tires maintain more grip.

Beware, though, because other people will not realize how fast you are cornering without the usual body roll.

I think PaulK is correct. I'm no Physicist but I have to believe that the car's weight is more evenly distributed over all four wheels when the car stays flatter in a corner with ARS. With a more even distribution, there is a larger contact patch under the inside two tires, etc.

That said, I think you'd have to be cornering mighty fast to really see much of a difference...

I've overdone it many times only to be corrected by the sight of the DSC lights coming on.

I did it in my test drive - what a great car. That's why I'm getting one...

The physics show that you should be able to turn faster [due to weight distribution as others have described]; but, there is anecdotal evidence of this as well.

I've seen numbers that show a 545 with a faster lap time at the "ring" than the E39 M5. Certainly the old M5 was a more powerful car than the 545... the common explanation for the E60 getting better times was the increased exit speeds out of the [plethora of] turns on the "ring". Makes me very excited to take my ED 550 out there.... of course I'm sure that I won't be even close to the lap times in question.

Can anyone drive the ring? I plan to do ED also and how incredible would that be to drive the ring when over there!! My ED would be March, likely, so it's perhaps not possible due to SNOW!

What were the 545's lap times?
