Is This A Fan In My Trunk?

My Ride: 2004 545i TITANIUM GREY II on Black Dakota Lthr, Comfort Seats, Sports PKG, Premium PKG, Active/Dynamic Drive, NAV, Winter Package.
Yesterday I get home, open the trunk to get my brief case then I hear a loud sound (like-a-fan running) to the left side of the trunk. I locked the car and this noise kept going. Today nothing is happening in that area. What is this? What's behind the padding in the trunk on the left side?

As Iceman said, you did hear a fan. Actually, you probably heard multiple fans since the Logic 7 amplifier has a few of them...
