I got into my car this morning as usual, turned the key and the starter kept turning for 5 seconds but the engine failed to start. I kept repeating the process for at least 10 minutes with no joy. All I could smell was fuel but the engine just won't start.

While I was trying to call the dealer, I've tried to start it again. This time, it finally started but the engine was shaking. Once it's started, it has been fine since. The car has only covered 47,000 miles. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. It finally started as I was on the phone with BMW Assist. No strating problems since but the idle is and has always been rough.
