My brother took the car out and a deer jumped in front of him. Damage to the fender, hood light and windshield. Any tips when talking to the insurance? Also I have never ever ever let anyone drive this car other than my wife!. First time and I get bitten! [attachment=106790:CIMG0048.jpg]

Wow
I don't think there is much more to say to the insurance other than "a f*cking deer jumped out"
It probaby doesn't taste half bad, through him on the grill!

What rotten luck.
I've almost had the same thing happen. Driving in rural Iowa on dark night, I smoked the tires when I braked. Both I and the doe were scared to death. Luckily we both went our seperate ways.
I would make the best of a bad situation and take the carcass to the local butcher for venison steaks and sausage. Of course notifiying the local game warden.

Yikes. Glad everyone is OK. Quite a few people are killed in just this type of accident every year. When I lived in Colorado, the reports were more frequent, and included deer, elk, moose, etc. That's a lot of weight hitting your windshield. Looks the the e60 did its job well. Sorry for the damage, but the insurance will fix it. It doesn't matter who was driving, so long as they have a license and your permission. The collision/comprehensive insurance "goes with" the car, not the driver.
Now you do have to make that unenviable phone call to Santa though.
I'm sure your brother feels terrible, but it's just a freak accident that could happen to anyone. I should know, although to a lesser degree. I was driving forum member DRANGED's 550 a couple of weeks ago during a meet and a rock flew up and cracked the windshield. Hence my nickname, the Cracka. <--------------

I don't think it will make any difference WHO was driving at the time of the incident, just call your insurance agent!
