Whenever daylight running lamps (high output bulbs in angel eyes) are on, eyebrows are always OFF. Would it be possible to have eyebrows on with DRL's without wiring? Maybe via NCS?

For those who don't know, DRL's light up in mode 3 (auto) and 0 (off), when DRL's are enabled in iDrive.

Thanks.

Not possible via coding from what I have seen.

How about wiring then?

Maybe making a simple Y-cable from DRL's to eyebrows too with some resistors? I guess eyebrows are 12V?

There's a NCS option to force "side makers" to be always on. Aren't side markers the eyebrows?

Side marker is your side marker.

Yes it's possible to manually wire it. Rather simple actually, and resistors are not needed. Eyebrows are 12v, it says so right there on the plug.

I thought the DRL's run below 12 volt

Also,
If you use a power meter you will find they have alternating current. Its that way atleast in my lexus.

Are you sure you can wire a drl into a eyebrow ????????????

DRL's should be 12V (they produce at least 3 times more light output than standard angel eyes - parking angels).

If Eyebrows are 12V too then it should be really simple.

Alternating current is getting me confused though. Are you sure it's alternating in your Lexus? Maybe it's just not stable enough?

Might be so on LCI's, but I vaguely remember that it can be coded to be on full power via NCSExpert.

I have enabled eyebrows as DRL and been running it for months now.

Neroht: I'm in Europe, I have a euro-spec E60 too. Eyebrows are off when DRLs are on. Note that DRLs I am referring to on LCI are the same angel eyes, but with high light output - different light bulbs.

He might be setting it to parking lights.

As far as I know, by default eyebrows are off unless set to parking light or low beam is on. This is the same for pre and LCI.
