When do they expect to have v25? Since 2008 facelifts wont even hit market untill May/June I think...
I've been racking up a number of software related problems (with v22.1) - I did not not wish to experience an update that 'broke more features than it fixed', I figured that it's better the devil you know! - hence I held off until know that is - last week I was informed by my local dealer, and shown the BMW communication, that V25 is due release in March 2007 to them (UK)- from the list waived at me it would appear to be an extensive release, if it appears that is!

It would appear that v24.02 responds differently. I suspect the older, early models are suffering...

It's also possible you have have a version that 'works', such as v24.00?

Many SIBs are out that relate to problems that will be fixed "in the next release of PROGMAN 25 in March 07" I could list at least 4 or 5 but no matter, that is what BMW NA claims.

Distribution of PROGMAN is by both MBW intranet (Centernet) and mailed CDs. SAs amy not always be aware of when an update is received, but in theory BMWNA dealers get the same upgrade at ~ the same time. Europe may get them just days earlier. The VPCs in USA also get the same upgrades at the same time. In some cases, not all, they may be directed to load te PROGMAN upgrade prior to releasing vehicles for distribution - better control there than at dealers. But this is not 100% true at each and every time.

To get to 24.2 would require many upgrades between 24.00.00 and 25.00.00. Or a MAJOR modification and neither has happened since the new numbering system became effective around June 2005 (CIP 17.xx.xx). Dealers often mistakenly abbreviate the correct number - happens all the time.

It is also true that the same upgrade will have different effects on different cars. At this point there is not enough specifics in the open forums to track this to specific build dates or vehicle configuration. Many owners do not recognize issues at all or too late to make attribution to the upgrade process. I hope BMW is building some kind of data base to try to address this issue, although it may not be as big an issue as we think it might be.

Is there any way to tell what PROGMAN version I have without going to the dealer? Surely there's a screen embedded somewhere deep in the bowels of iDrive that contains such information?

The info I got from my dealer was no.

The car has be connected to the Progman system to find out what CIP it is.

As I have told earlier on other treads, I have now the 24.2 and the Eyebrows
and everything is working perfect.

You can find out what CPI version your car has...

Steps here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=182514

Also there is no 24.2, the latest available CPI is 24.02. I just got mine upgraded to this and eyebrow lights work now

Checked mine, I-06-03-510, this is listed as Progman 21.00.00 but it can't be...! I suspect this version number is 'wrong' in the code.

I've found elsewhere on this forum that a 10 minute code of the Light Module may be the 'fix'? Anyone?
