BMW 04/2004 545i 6sp-Manual (Service nightmares)
So during the winter months she had been asleep for 4 months in the garage covered with her sleeping blanket until I had to rudely awaken her for a scheduled maintenance trip to the BMW service department. I told her she would be in good hands and not to be afraid.
I told the SA to correct some minor issues she had by upgrading her software to the latest.
An oil change was also in order she was now 2yrs old with 9200 miles on her (I did her first at 3000 miles). I also asked for her rubbers (tires) to be change because they were loud when running her on the highway. This was a perfect opportunity to give her some new functionality and asked for Bluetooth and MP3.
I was worried sick since we had never been apart for so long. I called the SA at the end of the day to find out her situation (he never called me). On the second day I called at 5PM to find she was ready to come home. I made it to the dealer to find some bad news.
Even though she was born on 04/2004 I was told she was not able to receive Bluetooth or MP3. I was then told only modules that required upgrading do to recalls were upgraded the rest were left as is (I was confused). SAMgr said he was the expert guru and they do not recode the whole car only module by module.
I now had to make another appointment on Monday and list all her bugs and only those bugs I list would be upgraded. As they brought her to me I notice white marks/scratches (4Hx6L) across the bottom of the rear passenger door extending to the wheel well. Her shoes were filthy from having her rubbers changed and her skin was now covered with dirty water spot because she had slept outside during one of the nights.
My heart was broken???I :'( in silence with her as we drove back home.
I woke up the next morning to find out it was not a dream but a nightmare come true.
PS: On the way home I looked in her I-drive, I notice I had everything I expected with CIP 21.02 with the exception of Bluetooth and MP3.
I promised her I would never take her back to that horrible place again.

My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!
I hear Habberstad is supposed to be pretty good in LI. They're involved with BMWCCA and well known with the local bmw community.

Strange you can't have Bluetooth and MP3... Our E60 is a 02/2004 build, and we got Bluetooth and MP3 retrofittet (got Bluetooth 09/2004 and MP3 02/2006).
9200 miles in 2 years! But why?!?!? Drive the car It's the Ultimate Driving Machine - not the ultimate garage queen

The only reason I have that many miles was due to my ED and a Florida trip.

Speaks for itself... "Hassel"... Will be a "Hassel" to take it there... Try Habberstad.
