I wonder how do you feel with winter RFT? Do you have the same problems like many with summer tires? How do they handle in snow compared to non-runflat winter tires? In paricular if anybody has winter Dunlops 17' RFT which are offered by BMW as OEM winter set...

I have the Dunlop Winter RFTs with 17" BMW Style 116. The tires are pretty hard and uncomfortable. I've been doing some snow driving and it feels good. It's hard for me to compare because my last car was a 4x4 VW Touareg. But I think you should have a better winter performing car if you choose th 16" non-RFT OEM set. But not as good looking...

Thank for the opinion.Have you driven summer RFT's? Are winter RFT even worse in terms of comfortability?

Yes, I have 17" summer RFTs, Bridgestones I think. There is no large difference in comfortability, but the winters are worse. My summer tires are 245 wide and my winter tires are 225, if thats to any help.

If I compare my 17 inch winter Dunlop runflats with the 18 inch summer tires, they are equally hard. In particular in the morning, when its cold, the entire car shudders and vibrates for a couple of minutes. They are great on the freeway (no vibrations at all) and ok in the snow.

I have the same experience with my winter runflat tires. I do have to say that they are less noisy then the 18 inch summertires ( a lot less) and ride comfort is better then with the 18 inch. But with cold tires I also have the shudders and vibrating feeling untill they heat up.
