I am pretty late on the reply for this thread but...

UK£ 185.00 = 271.24700 U.S. dollars

He paid $271 for an oil change... You could change my oil just about 3 times with Red Line and change the filters for that amount and I have just about 9 quarts each time. DIY

or

or look further

We get 4 years/50k miles free service and warranty here in the States.
Your sig says your car is a 2007. What type of free maintenance service and warranty do you get in Europe?

Its registered 2007 but you guys would class it as a 2008. We get 3 years free parts and labour warranty in the UK (up to 60k miles I think), that doesn't include expendable items though. So we have to pay for top up oil, window wipers, brake pads etc.

One thing to mention, as I did my oil myself it really gave me a chance to inspect the engine for leaks, inspect the belts an other fluid most of us just take for granted. So to me aside from the cost savings, it was really a piece of mind that not only did i do it right, but I was able to see if there are any other visible issues in the engine area both top and bottom.

So it pays to DIY

Good Luck
For me it doesn't pay to do it myself The dealer JMK BMW does it for $69.95 + tax, thats for oil, filter and top off fluids.
cheers

If you watch out for deals, you can frequently find Mobil 1 for roughly $5/qt and I bought a ton of filters (about 15) from germanfilters.com that including shipping run about $4 a piece. Both my 5er and Z4 both have the same size oil filter so I opted to buy in bulk.

The whole oil change process runs about $40 once it's all said and done.

Is that a special price for a limited time? Or the normal price?
