I'm debating on either choosing the Eisenmann exhaust or AC Schnitzer exhaust for my 545i. Which would you guys chose, or can you recommend another, better choice?
Thanks

How much are you looking to spend, what sound are you going for, and what look are you going for?

I'd like to hear about this too, think I'm going with Eisenman. Where'd you guys buy it? The install requires welding, right? Any other issues or complications?

you have to cut the stock pipe, then you can either weld the new one or clamp it. my remus is clamped.

basically the exhaust choices goes something like this -
b&b is loudest
remus is deepest
acs is a rebadged remus
eisenmann sounds like a muscle car mixed with some rasp
hamann is rebadged supersprint
rds is the only catback and true dual muffler on the market

my remus writeup -

no aftermarket parts void warranty unless they damage your car.

Hey Jet,

I read your write up on your upgrade...very interesting. I would like to just get an idea where you got it done, how much it cost, and if you're happy with the work the shop you went to did. I have been thinking about an exhaust upgrade and was just researching the matter. Also what do you think are the benefits/setback of clamped exhaust vs. welded... do you have any problems with the clamped exhaust.

Thanks in advance
P

i had it installed at http://www.tkxperformance.com/. took about an hour so was around $100. i was very happy with the work from tkx. they really know their stuff - they built my friend's supercharged m3 race car and they are 911 and boxster technical advisors for the ny metro porsche club of america.

the remus came with a clamp so the mechanic asked me if i wanted to use the clamp or to weld it. we decided to just clamp it so it'd be real easy to remove when my lease is up and he made sure it was as good as welded. i haven't had any issues with the remus.

you're also welcome to come check out my exhaust in person if you're in downtown manhattan sometime or come to one of the runs and meets.

I appreciate your input...and I'd love to meet one day or come to one of the runs if I could escape from work....schedule pending of course.

P.S. Is there a meet scheduled anytime soon?

Thanks again
