I too came from Evo Land - E5, E6 Extreme and an E7 Extreme S and can tell you I am VERY happy with my decision (and so is my Bank Manager)

My Ride: 525d, Silver Grey, Beige Leather, PDC, Sun Blinds On Order LCI 523iA, Jet Black, Beige Leather, Heated Seats, Rear Sun Blinds, Bluetooth, M Steering Wheel

This was my last outing in an EVO 9 (as a passenger) at brands hatch....it hurt

, notice how there are no side airbags / curtains and how the recaro (that I was sitting in) moved rearwards and into the B pillar. My crash helmet took the brunt but I was still a bit daized

Car was written off, post mortem on crash was cold tyres, rear off side tyre just clipping the rumble strip exiting a corner on full boost in 3rd gear...

You'll feel much safer in the 535d if this happens

Actually that does not LOOK like totalled, but I think that frame is... well not so rigid anymore. Hope You, or driver, did not get any long term effect.
