On second inspection, is that the trunk edge? Hell, just slap a spoiler on there!

Did you call 911!?!?!?!?!

Get her into a shop and she will come out like new. It's on my list to do as well. I have a nasty scratch on my front fender that I think about constantly. Do not try to cover that up with touch up paint, it will look horrible! Good luck!

Have you ever found your self wondering what it looks like when the paint on your e60 is scraped off all the way to the metal?
(for some viewers this might be traumatic - brace yourself)

BTW, don't ask. It was obviously something stupid.
HOLY CRAP....OUCH! I know you don't want to say HOW it happened but that leaves the rest of us here to try and surmise exactly what happened ourselves! I personally think it was a grinder, and it accidentally came in contact with the car and did that kind of damage! Who's next? Step right up and take a guess winner get's a prize!! (not really, but guess anyway!).

I hope it gets repaired VERY soon and should one of us guess, will you confirm what happened??? Let us know how it turns out!

So I have to agree with the guy that suggested the garage door. If you look at the pic closely, there are other scratches in line, but not as deep. So +1 for the garage door.

Ouch! That hurts. But don't feel too bad. I did the exact same thing with my 528i. I didn't back in enough in my garage and a piece of metal beside the hinge was just long enough to make an awesome, deep scratch on the edge of my hood. Exposed the metal below also. I was really, really close to crying.

I didn't have the funds to visit the body shop, so I used some touch-up paint, let it dry, waxed and buffed like crazy and it actually looked quite good at the end. Hope everything works out for you man. Post pics once it's fixed.

Having relations on your E60 is NOT a good idea. At the very least, take off those damned metal buckles beforehand. Sheesh...
