$9k!!!!! OMG! get it!
Love to, a fee minor details that need to be resolved...

I would still need to come up with the difference between my 545i (which I have only had 9 months) and the $64k.

Son going to college soon etc (private of course)

with $64K I would buy an used 2006 M5 with less of 20K miles or add $5K for a 2007. Seriously!

M cars are a whole different ball of wax. I just came out of an 06 M3 that was my pride and joy but in everyday traffic it was bear. M cars are SO HARD to drive smoothly. You can't just cruise in an M car you have to DRIVE the car or it bucks and jumps and makes you look stupid.

The M5 is awesome and I would love one, but not to drive to work in everyday. The mileage and range is dismal.

IMO an M5 is a very different car than a 550i. Just like the E46 330i coupes are very different from M3's.

True! If you live in a big city and for daily driving, non-M is the best. Yep, you are right.

So how did this end up getting resolved? I have a 2004 545i that sounds just like yours. My local Louisville Kentucky BMW dealer is playing dumb? Did BMW help cover the costs or did they put it to you?
