Hi guys
it appears today the engine oil low light has lit up.
and my passenger seat's adjustment is weird... some parts it wont move and you hear the rotor grinding sound
lastly, when my car is idling, there is this screeching voice from the engine compartment.
my car is a CPO with a year of warranty left. Can CPO warranty fix those issues for free? If not, which can be fixed by myself or taken to an indy shop?
Thanks!

one quart of oil will fix the low engine oil light; seat adjustment, definitely has to take it apart, sounds like a bad motor or something is stuck which preventing it to move; as for the screeching, sounds like either the serpentine belt needs to be replaced or the pulleys, may be both plus other things such as the water pump.
Not sure if CPO will cover for the repairs since I do not have CPO coverage but I'm sure others will chime in.
Good luck!

Depending on what kind of car you have, if it's a 535i turbo cars tend to burn oil over time and need to be topped off. Not sure about the CPO question either sorry still on my original warranty.

what kind of oil should i use? I'll keep a bottle just in case, but I'll still need to call in tomorrow to ask if I can take it into the dealer. I hope my CPO will cover the screeching sound, seats, and the oil...

what's the current mileage. I too have an '06 550. Had the low oil level message once in the 2 years I own so far. As for the screeching, definitely take a look at the serpentine belt and the pulleys. I'm in the process of replacing those parts. Just replaced my tensioner pulley. Now need to wait for the water pump to arrive.
Good luck with the dealer's CPO thing. No clue whether or not it is covered but lots of people have CPO so they should be able to answer you there.

On my CPO I have a 6 years or 100,000 miles of worry free no cost maintenance and the dealer took care of everything. They don't charge you if it's only for fluids such as oil changes, transmission fluid change, brake fluid change, but for other repairs there is a $50.00 deductible. The engine oil low light has lit up on mine before my CPO warranty expired last DEC 2010 and told them about the problem, the dealer gave me an F10 535i for a loaner for 5 days because they said they can not work on my car right away. It turned out that the oil pressure switch was leaking. The dealer charged me $50.00 for the deductible and did the oil and filter change for free because my oil is almost due at that time 1600 miles according to iDrive.
