My Ride: Gone Waiting
Default

Hi,

I changed my battery 1 month ago , and i had my car washed yesterday(in fact i did not used the car for 2 days) and today , when decided to go for a ride when i got in my car , turn the key and nothing appears on the dash.

i was shock , that a battery that just have been changed is already dead.
Then i jumped the car and drove , the battery seems to be ok.
I noticed something that is really strange i played a cd(1) and then i switch off the car completely and when i returned again , cd number (2) is playing , which i draw my own conclusion that the cd is continue playing even the car is off with nosound at allthus draining the battery.

Any one got same problem before ?
What to do?

Thanks

Nah, Progman 23 still does not solve the problem. Look into Progman23 thread and you'll see people still have this issue after upgrade to v23.

HI vishwen,

Sorry to hear about the problem you're having with the CD and battery. I don't drive my E60 everyday, sometimes keeping it in the garage for a week before I drive it again. Fortunately for me the car starts.

Not sure if this will help you but before I turn off the car I use the voice recognition and say "FM On" which switches to FM. I haven't tested whether or not the CD still runs; however, I do remember turning off the car in the past while on CD AND experiencing what you explained. Again, without any problems with starting the car.

Not exactly what you'd expect from a very expensive car, huh?

Good Luck,
-CoolTones

Honestly I dont think its the CD player thats draining your battery. Yes the CD player does have the problem of running ahead, it keeps playing even after you shut down the car. but it only runs for a little while I think 16 mins and it'll still shut down after the car goes into sleep mode. yours seem to have somthing else... something else is keeping the car from going to sleep... it could be a combination of the CD player and somthing else...

Even if the V23 doesnt fix the CD player I would suggest you go get the update. it will at least / hopefulyl turn off the other problem thats keeping your car from going to sleep.

vishwen,
First of all, check if your aftermarket amp on when ignition is off when car awake. If you use remote-on from BMW amp, you need to disconnect it and tab to power outlet wire to avoid aftermarket on while ignition is off and drain your battery.
BMW amp is on whenever car is awake does not matter ignition is on or off.
Check all other aftermarket module you have installed to make sure that when you turn off ignition, there should be no voltage at the power input of your aftermarket devices.
