Engine Fault, Reduced Power

Hi there,
Just started the car and something seems very wrong.
The car is shuddering and feels like it is only running on 4 cylinders. iDrive is displaying 'Engine fault, reduced power' on the display.
The car in question is a 2007 525i with the 3 litre N53 engine.
Has anyone else encountered this, and do you have any ideas what could be wrong?
