Thumbs down Engine fault (n46)

Good day all, I have a 08 e60 lci 520i right hand drive, when I started the car in the morning an engine fault came up stating (Full engine power no longer available.Possible to continue journey.drive moderately). So I took the car to a buddy of mine who scanned it and this is what shows up code 2851 variable valve Gear-guide sensor bank,also code A826 Function indicator faulty and finally code B428 No match in data base, thank you all in advance for helping a brother out I'm a DIY guy any help is welcomed

If I were you, I'd remove theVANOS solenoids, clean them and reinstall them, clear the code(s) and see if the code comes back.

So when I removed the connectors to the vanos I found some oil in them, so I cleaned them and the vanos and cleared the codes,I believe the oil is due to my leaky rocker cover ,which I'm in the process of replacing hopefully this solves everything. So far it's been two days no code errors and I've been using the car a lot.

glad to see you were able to get rid of that light without spending lot of money.
