Have the same in my e61 525i -05 6 speed.But it doesnt feel "premium"....

Ive had this with a few manual gear boxes, nothing to worry about IMO its usually the thruster bearing rattling due to not enough grease on the bearing!

My Ride: Bmw 530d 2004

I have the sound in my 530d too, if I shut down the car gear being in neutral and clutch out.
I normally shut down the car with clutch in and with 1st gear in ---> no sound.
