I have 520D M sport (LCI). Yesterday when I switched the car off I got a Red steering with padlock sign and "Electronic Steering Wheel Defective" error on I-drive. I contacted BMW Dealers and they quoted £110 p/h diagnostic charge and then whatever the repair cost. But I went to a local BMW specialist and he connected Autologic device to car and they managed to reset the error message. Error code removed for only £35. Hopefully the error will not return.

 

loool , just had this problem now ,, before I do bother myself with any step further ,, I'm having my coffee and checking how had the same problem .. looks like I will connect my GT1 and clear the error too ..
