You didn't mention which module gave you that code. But generally it means that the module the code was pulled from can't communicate with the instrument cluster. Check all your fuses, disconnect the battery positive and negative and put a wire between the 2 cables for 5-10 minutes. Has fixed many a BMW in my shop. If that all fails, get back to a scanner and see if the scanner can communicate with the cluster. If not you have a can failure or a cluster failure

Hi, tried the battery disconnected, electrical short trick for about 10mins, sadly the middle cluster light is still lit causing the problem, i'm in the middle of installing cable-shack diagnostic software on the laptop, to try to identify the fault, either ecu or cluster fault, thanks
