You know when you lock the car with the remote the system stays on for a few moments afterwards, including the light next to the shift know that indicates P for park, R, N and D and like a "shhhhhhhh" from the stereo. After a while the whole system shuts off and enters in some kind of hibernation.

Well today I noticed the P (park)light stays on all along, it doesnt shut down even after an hour. What's wrong? is there anything else that might be preventing it from completely shuting down. It's weird because the shhhhh sound from the stereo does go off.

Has anybody experienced this before?

I think the shutdown sequence takes 16 min or so if I remember right. My P takes about that long to go off.

It's not uncommon for something electronic preventing the car from going to sleep. Are you having battery related issues - like an indication that the battery is getting weak?
