Electric Windows stopped working just from the Drivers Door Controls. Started and stopped a few times but now won't work at all! Passenger and rear windows work from their individual Switches.

Fuses are ok and Wiring seems Fine. Is there anything else I can check before going on the Diagnostic Machine

Any help/advice would be much appreciated

It sounds as though the window motor has failed.

Hopefuly, your car is still under warranty

I don't think it has because the windows work, just not from the Drivers Door Control, which of course also has the Electric Mirror Switch on it and the Switch to stop the Rear Windows working. These don't work either

Wondered if there was a Relay somewhere for that particular part of the Wiring harness

Sorry, miss read your post.

So does the drivers side window open from the drivers side switch control, but all the other switches have failed on this control unit?

If so, it sounds like the switch control unit needs replacing.

Just to clarify, all other Windows work from their own Switches.

No Windows work from my (Drivers Door) Control Module. Also the Electric Mirrors don't work either.

I've taken the Switch out of the Door, removed the Wiring and it doesn't seem to be getting 12 Volts. Fuses are fine.

Does anyone know where the Relays are on one of these?

First of all hi everyone and sorry to drag up an ancient thread.
I have a 2008 520d with exactly the same fault as the one in this thread and just wondered if anyone else has come across this before.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I've not been able to contact biguglydog successfully. Thanks in advance.

Late reply I know, but my 2006 520d has the same fault, the fault initially was intermitent, I found that by wobling the plug I could get it to work, when I investigated I found water had leaked through the boot/seal and on to the door/plug connector on the "A" post, when the plug was taken apart I found the one of the pin contacts corroded through. I am currently on the trail for a .6mm square pin connector (BMW Pin-contact - 61130006664).

Thanks for posting this...I don't have the problem...but if I do, I'll know where to look. If the (2) previous posters had posted their findings...it may have saved you a lot of time
