try it don`t work so I just have to press the little button.
not worth the money to get it done.

We own BMW's, by definition we buy things that are not worth the money we spend on them

I was wondering if this could be done too! I'll have a chat next time I'm there. oh and by the way, how much was the extended voice option retrofit, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks!

I know that you can have the car programmed to fold the mirrors (electric of course) from the key fob if you have memory seats.

Can anyone without memory seats confirm if they have been able to acheive this? My car is currently at the dealers for upgrade to play MP3 and have voice activation so it would be nice to get it all don at same time.

Thanks Guy535D

Confused,

I have Comfort seats with my 535d sport also electric folding mirrors, the seats are full electric and i collected the car a few days ago brand new from a BMW Dealer in Kent, i asked the dealer if i could have the function of folding the mirrors when using alarm fob and he told me NO it can not be done.

Can someone please confirm this as i'm pritty pissed.

Thanks

<sigh> dealers... Yes it can be done! Have you tried holding the lock button? (It might just work already)

Thanks KAF for help. Dealer didnt even charge for this although Ive paid a kings ransom for MP3, Voice activation and TV all as retrofit.

Most impressed with quiality of TV and struggle to get my daughter out of the car she likes it with the sound so much!

Also got new roof rail fitted due to some corrosion and a new rear parcel shelf due to plastic splitting but these were under warranty.

DMS may have to wait a little longer. Next on the list is to see how we get TV to work while moving and then look at Ipod link.

Guys, all electric foldable mirrors can be folded with key, regardless of memory seats and other things.
It's 2 min job for the dealer to programme the car's memory so that the key will fold the mirrors.

There are 3 options on that function in the dealer's programming machine.

1. Key does not fold mirrors
2. Fold mirrors when lock
3. Press and hold lock button to fold mirrors

There are also options for headlights, ventilation, memory, A/C functions etc.

Hope some day ...after hacking I-Drive, (windows CE) we'll have the ability to select whatever we like with a "tick".

Nick
