Eibach prokit with koni yellow sport shocks
Hi guys,
I've been getting a bang from the right front suspension (if you are sitting in the car) when going over dips.
My suspension was all brand new last October.
The garage has stripped the suspension and said the springs are not stiff enough and so they are allowing too much travel, hence the bang on rebound.
How is this possible as I thought this was a great combination?
Could it be an Eibach manufacturing problem from new, that the springs are sagging too much?
Any ideas?

Sounds to me like there may be an issue with the shocks rather than the springs.
Try bouncing the front end on the right side. Does the car keep bouncing or does it come to a smooth but quick stop (which it should)? If it bounces then your shocks could possibly be shot. Good luck.

I've tried bouncing the front but it returns to rest straight away. The shocks were brand new. They said they could see that the springs were allowing too much travel.
They also said the top mounts looked fine (no play).
I don't think the koni's have bump stumps?

It seems strange to me that the springs allowed to much travel
...Are you sure you got the correct set for your car? otherwise maybe a faulty spring?
Yeah, seems strange to me too. The garage found the box they came in and we checked the numbers with those on Eibach's website and they match. I guess I'll have to wait to hear what the garage says when they phone the Eibach dealer.
I've never heard any story of Eibach's sagging too much? I guess it could be still the top mountings?

I know the salesrep with Merwede Springs, which make almost all the springs for the big companies...
I you want you can PM me the part numbers, along with the details op your car, and I will check for you if these are ok (although the Eibach site should provide the correct info)
We can also ask him, if he has heard of this problem before...

Thanks mate. The garage will ring me today with what they find out from the Eibach dealer.
Apparently I definately don't have bump stops! Still seems strange the Eibachs are travelling so far down.
Will let you know the outcome.
Paul.
