Hello,

Couple of months ago I asked someone to install a CIC on my E60 5 Series from 2009.
Only one week after installation, I realized that I needed the new VIN to update maps from the CIC. The guy who did the installation never helped me further.

Now I have old maps, and I don't know the VIN in order to get a new FSC.

What is the easiest way of getting the VIN from the CIC? I don't have any cables, but I can buy one online, if someone can explain me how to do it and if it's not too complicated. Any other alternatives without cables is also welcome.

I did the same upgrade from CCC to CIC, my CIC came from a German 3 Series, mine also had old maps. I thought getting the VIN would enable a map upgrade, IT DOES NOT!!!
My solution, find a coder, a smart coder with 2016 maps, my coder here in Los Angeles Calif. updated to 2016 maps via USB. 2016 maps are really nice in 3D Perspective View, scale 200ft.
..... 3D only work in cities with tall buildings though.
