Yeah..... My car guy keeps talking me out of the Audi S5 saying it's stocked full of VW parts and overpriced for what it is. Reliability is way lower than BMW and WTF am I thinking...

That's the lecture I got today.

You've hi-jacked my thread!

Sheesh! I can't believe it ---- 4 pages of junk in response to someone agonizing over whether e60's are reliable, and come to find out they are past the point of no return and already have the car ordered!? Hijack the thread to something useful...

In Korea, I can opt out of my order.

OK seoulman, then you probably should do that. At 23 posts per day since 27 July, you're gonna run outta ink or something with a Bimmer on order!

You can opt of your order here in the US AFAIK. I had that option. Didn't even have to put a deposit down. Just a contract stating the e60 on order is the one I configured with the final agreed sales price between myself and my SA, signed by both of us.

Try to keep things in perspective. Most people will post messages about problems or issues they are having. Many here have e60s that perform flawlessly, but it is less likley that those people will post things like "my car is perfect" and the like.
Obviously, there are cars that have better reliability track records than BMW, but for as complicated a car the 5 series is, I think the problems seem to be rather rare and somewhat minor at least from my experience.
