because halogens use two 5W angeleye bulbs and xenons use one 10W bulb you need to splice the the green and the gray wire together on the xenon headlight. On the xenon headlight the green wire is used for the bixenon shutter function which is disabled with my my xenons but who cares. Can activate it by taking power from the high beam bulb but I didnt bother. The gray wire powers the angeleye. Then to stop warning lights for dipped beam I added a 4700uf 35v capacitor in parallel with the dipped beam which smooths the power to the ballast and fools the lcm in thinking theres a bulb there. Used mine for 6 months with no issues.

What about the automatic level adjustement of the xenone lights that is reqired by law, at least in Europe? The cars with xenon have a sensor fitted to the wheel axis if I don't remember incorrectly. I guess this part is not on the car with halogen headlights.

In Germany (and some other countries) you have to have the automatic self-leveling device in order to be allowed to use xenon lights. Other than that, you also have to have headlight washers (not wipers, only washers).
Does the E60 without xenon have the automatic level settings for the headlights, or is there a wheel under the light switch that allows you to set the height?
Good luck ;-)

Changes like this must be done with the BMW dealer only.
It's like buying cheap wheels with some stupid Hub Fit Rings...
The cheapest way to make tuning, if you do not really understand BMW Hi Tech,
is to buy it from the dealers.
A E60 is not like a F-10 truck from the '80's...
Buy cheap - pay twice the double

Great tips Dav530 and great explanation Busta. Just swamped my halogens for OEM Xenons. Even tested without the capacitor to see what Busta was talking about. I'm very grateful. Now i have to figure out how to switch my angel eyes on only as day time running lights instead of the low power to the high beams that i have now. But i won't lose sleep over that!
