Thumbs up

Yesterday I was driving behind a new 7 series. When the car first came out I almost got sick because I found it soooo ugly (especially the rear). But now I have an E60 myself I am beginning to see the beautiful lines of the 7 too.. Even the rear of the car looks spectaculair and proportioned very nice.

I'm not gonna trade my E60 for a 7 (too big, I'm too young), but somehow the design of the new 7 is growing more and more on me.

Just wondering if others have changed their mind about the 7 design??

I always liked the seven as well but I think what's happening here is that both the 5 & 7 designs are/were ahead of their time. As time goes by and more people see them, they begin to look more "normal." Also, more and more cars are being designed with the more radical, "sculpted" look so again, people are growing accustomed to them.

I still laugh at how "old" the E39 looks these days. I still think it's a classic design but you have to admit, it's looking dated now, isn't it?

I agree... I still like the look of the car but it looks kinda small to me compared to the E60 (and dated)

Likewise the 7 has grown on me since owning an e60, I still think the 7 is very "colour sensitive" though.

I had a very bad first impression when I first saw the 7, back in 02. I wasn't amused by the new back, and most of all, the Buick-like interior. No longer driver oriented.

The seven has grown on me to a point that I don't find it offensive anymore. Compared to 740i, the new 7 certainly has more road presence.

Does anyone noticed that the new Scion Tc has similar headlight cluster as the 7?
I guess Bangle did foresee the design of the future after all.

Hi

My previous car was the E38(?) 730i, still miss it. Rode in a friend's new 7 recently. I must say, if money is no object, I'd go for the 7. It feels a lot more luxurious inside, especially the interior lighting scheme.

Hopefully, the overall low popularity of the 7 series will mean it's a second hand bargain. I've always like the car.
