Default e60 Start Stop button

Now that we have a history of the e60, generally speaking will the Start Stop button start to fail at:

- 5 years
- 7 years
- 9 years

I'm not sure your going to get too much traction on people tracking the failure rates of a $75 part...

The black finish on mine is rubbing off, so it glows more than I'd like. Is that a failure?

I keep coming back for the high comedy.

But seriously - the first owner of my car didn't bite their fingernails. The rubbery finish is chipped all over the start button surround. Looks bad but like the now outdated idrive screen, I get enthusiastic about fixing it until I see the price tag.
