Hi Guys,

Finally got a chance to test drive the 530 yesterday. Really loved it. Feels so agile and responsive for a big(ish) car. According to the sales chap, the test car does not have Dynamic Drive, but while cornering, there was hardly any body roll even compared with my 328ci which has sports suspension.

So you lucky guys who already have your 5ers, do you find that the body roll is quite a bit less than other 5s or 3s you've driven previously? I'm still deciding whether to get DyDrive, but if the sales person is right, and the test car doesn't have it, I'll probably use the $9K for a moonroof option and save the rest.

Also, anyone here optioned for the 124 rims, but with 225s tyres all round? did you have to pay extra?

i m getting 124 wheels....u cant run 245 all round cos the back rim is a bigger piece...to fit 275 only.

i m also getting DD. for what its worth....i hv decided its something i wun miss. i know i will regret it in future if i dun get that DD.

end of day its about ur driving style n driving habits...if u r contented cruising around on the local roads at mundane speeds then its pointless...but if u hv tried the cars wif DD like i did on a race track...u will fork out ur last dollar for it...i assure u.

Hi 530i,

Sound like you've got lots of options on your order. So how much on top of the $241K did you have to pay for the options? I'm still trying to decide on what to include, but running out of money

BTW, when is your car arriving?

DD = 9036
sports steering = 256
124 + spare wheel = 2162
sports suspension = 1412
glass roof = 4518
logic 7 = 2868
adaptive headlights = 1573
total = 21,925

like i say..the DD is single most impt place for u to put your money....

was told my car will come only in march...cheers

hi eggz,
after hitting above 2000 km last two days.. I have started pushing the car. You are right without D/D the e60 actually doesn't roll that much... IMHO well.. to induce the "at the edge" roll.. i have to really corner at crazy speed. let'd say 80kph at 90 deg bent. You need DD if you drive like that all the time.
i used to drive e46... the e60 cornering is very much sharper but the e46 is a much nimble car to go trashing.

when i signed up for my 530i i was on dilemma ... get moon roof and DD and wait till mar'04 to get the car. the sepang experience on DD told me that DD was too good to miss. However I finally decided not to put more money on the car.

When I was the PML delivery center I saw a 530i with 124 rims and 245mm tyres all round.

btw what is the PML going rate on 530i stock with COE at $22K? you should be able to get below $240K?

H Zag, only if the COE is below S$20,000 will you get it below S$240,000 because anything above S$20,000 is absorbed by PML and so, the savings will not be passed on to buyer.

Hi 520i, thanks for the information. Actually, the scratch on my car no noticeable after I touched up but I kept seeing it in my dreams!

Hi 530i, wah, you more kiasu than kiasu king with the options you added. Looks like you have full options except for one more option - that is, the sales girl included in the car!

Hi 520, my car reg number starts with SF. PML has a few nice sales reps. The one attended to me quite pretty. I think some ex-SIA stewardess joined them and Cycle & Carriage.
