Have you configured the "Settings" correctly?
Yes I did...to manual and set alerts to be 1000m for all....

BTW, my Nuvi started acting strange.... everysince I starting using the Bluetooth function during each startup, it no longer TTS nor say where to keep or turn... it has become very "introverted".... is this a known bug?

I noticed lately that the traffic cops do not stay with their camera these days. Does anyone of you notice this too? Seems like they leave their camera running while they walk around the area. Looks like they don't need to use a radar gun anymore.

Cos they know some people have Sixth Sense and with Radar, it will trigger these alerts...?

My theory is this:

They let the digital High Definition (1920x1080i) camera run by itself and go back to the lab to analyse. Assuming they run at 25fps (frames per second) they would be able to compare 2 or more frames and using 2 or more benchmarks such as 2 lamp-posts to compute how fast this car was travelling.

E.g. if the distance between 2 lamp post (that was calibrated) is 10 metres. Your car touches the first lamp post in frame 1 and was half a car body before the 2nd lamp-post, then you would have travelled at:

5 metres per (1 second divided by 25 fps) 0.04 seconds or 450,000 metres/hour or 450km/hr. (If you had Wing Flaps, you would have taken off like a 747-400 Jumbo!)

To fine tune the data, they will view it over maybe 3-4 point of references to reduce the errors (such as half car length passing thru the 2nd reference etc)...

So time to ditch our Sixth Sense and opt for "Common Sense"?

Guys, I have some news!!! A friend of mine, soon to be EX-SAF Colonel is starting up a Flying School in Johore. Here's the good news!!! They've got a 900m runway there which can be used for drag races. The EVO and WRX clubs have registered some interest in using the facilities.

Good place to try out qtr mile and 0-100 timings if there's anyone out there who's keen.

Free introductory invitation?
Can try practice our 180 degree turning skills too. Remember to take out your wing flaps though, you won't want your car to take off like a plane over there.

900m runway? A little short for taking off and landings even for Cessnas

He said 3000ft; so I gather its 900m right? He claims it takes slightly more than 300m of runway length to take off. BTW according to him, its the longest pte runway in Malaysia
