Here in Singapore

520IA - SGD 189000.00
525IA - SGD 212000.00
530IA - SGD 245000.00
545IA - SGD 317000.00

As a guide, 1 USD = 1.64 SGD

The above are subject to between 1 to 1.5% discount. Isn't this the most expensive country to drive in?

Without getting into a political discussion of the merits of the various countries' taxation and social policies, all I can say is that I have never been happier to live in America. My $66,000 545 (well, about $59,000 actually, Euro Delivery) costs about $200,000 in Denmark and Singapore, and well over $100,000 in most other countries. I think I'll stay here for a while.

WOW!!!!!

In June I'm taking European Delivery of a 530i. We then plan to drive to the Copenhagen area to visit friends. Given that the car is so expensive compared to what Americans pay for it, is there any chance we might receive negative attention?

Don't ge me wrong; I love Denmark. However, I was on foot the last time I visited.

thanks,
Greg

You don't have to be so worried. Your car will be safe as long as you don't park it in areas where you wouldn't have parked it in the US either.

But you will probably get a little more attention than when you crossed Germany <_<

Enjoy your stay!

This country SUCKS ! there are 180 % taxes on cars + VAT!! (25%)

I have been in Sweden for 7 years, and have getting used to normaly carprices, so after moving back to Denmark, it's lik a chock for me again..

I work at an Audi dealer here in Denmark, and due to the high taxes, we install a lot of equiptment afterwards, because that's cheaper than buy navigation, leather seats and so on from factory! The danish cars are so boring!

But anyway, I can drive our E60 whem i'm at mon and dad's place?

Man, that?s just ridiculous! Can?t you buy and register your car else were? What if you are working in the States, you buy your car here and then just bring it back to Denmark.

May be I sound to na?ve, but is there any loop holes? Are the social programs there really worth 200% + taxes?

Serge.

Hi Serge,

We are planning doing that with our E60, because mon and dad, will move back to Denmark this summer (we are Danish, but have been in Stockholm, Sweden for 7-8 years).

If you bring your car to Denmark and will have it "on danish plates". There are some guys, that look at the car, see how nice it is, equiptment and so on, and then give you a price... We might have to pay ~ 500.000 DKK ~ ? 66.000 just in taxes to get in on Danish ground !!

It's sick, but we love the car

Actually most of the country with high car price are because of the local tax, not because of the BMW. I remember that back to 98, a Pontiac TRANS AM sell for around a price of Ferrari in china, the price tag was around $179393.

Taken the absurd high depriciation on American Cars it'll be wortless in say 5 years when you calculate 20% a year. So you lose 36000 a year :'(

A well equipped 545i would be around ?100000 ($130000) in the Netherlands.
like Andy545 said.
An M5 with no options is around ?130000 ($169000)

And I thought they were excessively overpriced here.
