Scary.. I read in a recent issue of TIME Magazine that 30% of philippino couples were not aware of the fact that children are the result of sexual intercourse.. Sort of amusing and slightly depressing.

I highly doubt it would attract unwanted attention. But if you're going there with your car, ensure that you park indoors in a secure garage.
We'll be bringing our car and staying with friends in Frederickssund, where it will be parked on the street. It seemed like a nice little town when I was there a couple years ago.

I doubt I have anything to worry about. And if something happens, that's what insurance is for.

I haven't even bothered to think about fuel prices when I'm in Europe. I'll worry about it when the credit card bill arrives a month after I come home.

I was thinking of Copenhagen when I wrote that about indoor parking. Your car is probably very safe on the street of a small town

Things tend to get nasty when those credit card bills return with you from vacation..

530d = 792 457 kr =? ? 104.683

+ automatic = ? 7800...

This country SUCKS ! there are 180 % taxes on cars + VAT!! (25%)

I have been in Sweden for 7 years, and have getting used to normaly carprices, so after moving back to Denmark, it's lik a chock for me again..

I work at an Audi dealer here in Denmark, and due to the high taxes, we install a lot of equiptment afterwards, because that's cheaper than buy navigation, leather seats and so on from factory! The danish cars are so boring!

But anyway, I can drive our E60 whem i'm at mon and dad's place?

Man, that?s just ridiculous! Can?t you buy and register your car else were? What if you are working in the States, you buy your car here and then just bring it back to Denmark.

May be I sound to na?ve, but is there any loop holes? Are the social programs there really worth 200% + taxes?

The same goes for Norway. But we have even more expensive cars, food, clothes and so on. One pack of cigarettes costs $12 in Norway!!! All goods are charged with 25% VAT.

My 525iA cost $120000

That's the downside.
The upside is that all hospitals, medical operations and whatever illness you may have, they treat you for free. Plus hundreds of other social and medical services are for free.

The main reason for the high car prices is the very expensive roadbuilding. If you have seen or geography you'll understand. And we are only 4,5 million people living here.

E60Sim: I think you're a bit off on your calculations? EUROS? The automatic costs? ?7800 in Denmark? I find that very hard to believe.. it equals about DKK 57 000? Weird it's only ~NOK 20 000

Over here, the prices are like this:

520i: $73 300, ?56 300
523i: $78 700, ?60 000
525i: $89 800, ?69 000
530i: $108 400, ?83 000
545i: $165 200, ?126 000

Neither these prices include steptronic.. which costs about $3100/?2400

Btw. The M5 will cost ?184 000

No, it's true. Denmark's car prices are sick. One loop hole is to rip out your rear seat. The the car is a "truck" and you'll pay 1/2 tax. that's why many X5's in Denmark has no rear seat...

Yeowch. 530s start at $C 66,500 in Canada and fairly well equipped, what's that 45,000 Euros or so? Doesn't include Tax but still.... 545s are like $C 74,000. You can't buy 520s, 525s or anything else. Gas is hovering around $C 1.04 per litre for 92 octane in Vancouver though we have more "transit surcharges" added than other places (these don't make it any easier to take transit, just more expensive to drive a car - a mentality that is quite popular among certain politicians though quite hard to actually comprehend). I did know Denmark was very expensive as we have friends there.
