Spending almost $600 on a guess sounds steep to me. I would pay to get it diagnosed

Will look into it...although I think I would want to go new at this point...don't want to have to replace again in half of the normal time.

I was hoping someone here would take care of that....but if I cant figure it out then that's definitely what i'm going to do before I start buying more parts.

For those wondering....I've replaced the AC Control unit with a used one (Thanks Pavrom!!) and the problem hasn't come back yet (Fingers crossed).

Also got to have a nice little coding session with Simon in the process of replacing this thing so at least some good came out of this!

Thanks everyone!

I have the same issue that the A/C starts on its own out of nowhere, sometimes I shut it off and it comes back on almost immediately.. This happen once in a blue, so it never bothered me.

I kind an idea now as of what could it be thanks to you, but not ready to spend $500+ yet.

Just find a used control unit...mine was $160...i'm sure you could find one for less than $200....thats ONLY if the problem really bothers you...in my case...I was going nuts and it was really bad so I had to do it.

I also have a hunch that if you install a USED control unit that it doesn't require programming. But don't quote me on that

If I were you I would pay someone to look for faults. If its determined that your control unit is going bad then you can make the decision to do the swap. Also, its a VERY easy install. No need to pay someone to swap out the units.

Hope this helps.

So the problem is back

Theres a couple possibilities at this point...the first is that I recieved a used Control Unit that was on its way out.

The second is that its something completely different.

Thinking about taking this to the dealer now....anyone got any interesting ideas??
